for people who want to brush up on these serres-noise questions or who, 
like me, don't have time/access to serres, alphonso lingis does a 
pretty good, pretty straightforward, pretty easy-to-read summary/exegesis 
of serres on noise in 
_The_Community_Of_Those_Who_Have_Nothing_In_Common_, p. 69 - 107.  The 
pages are really small, so it'll take ya maybe a half-hour to read 
through it.
