Re: teaching (was "let us")

Just a note,

I am now involved in two (marginally) separate conversations at once, 
and I have been good about responding to the "polemicism" string but 
bad about the teaching string because the problems there are more 
involved.  Tomorrow, when I get back some intellectual strength after 
a day of, well, teaching, I will respond to the others.
