<P>Dear Jocelyn, </P></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>Can I make a couple of observations
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>1. If it is common knowledge that the peace-process is slavish how can we defend the Palestinian cause as a moral molecularity?
<DIV></DIV>2. Don't you think that we could use Weber's take on "rational" and thus: Ramadan aint rational. Attack the enemy on Ramadan is highly rational? Do you think there might be a rationalization of war? And would rationalizing war be (in general) good or bad?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>I'm haveing what (for me) are interesting thoughts on these two matters. Linked together. The rationalization of war, that would be more slave morality maybe? Or is the rationalization of war tha practice of the master? methinks the latter. Thus by making war no longer irrational, do we make it a matter of pure utility? And isn't utilitarianism of that sort pretty slavish?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>Life is irrational and humanity has struggled for hundreds of years to make sense of it with justice, peace contracts, border laws, go on go on, but we must continue to enqiire in new contexts revealed, the complexity of systems.....
<DIV></DIV>Why would I disagree with that?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;That you are waiting for someone to maintain that you cannot become anything more than what we know..... what is this, a court of justice ? Will your arguments prevail??
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>Arguments? I had not been aware that I had mounted one? The stuff at the top of this post is the beginning of a deconstruction. I said what you said: "but we must continue to enqiire in new contexts revealed, the complexity of systems..... " (including .... the systems of those you hate?)
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;What is the meaning of shame and apology from you?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>I should not have said to Ruth that historiography is boring. It is not boring. I have just read too much of it recently. So I was apologising and feeling, yes, somewhat angry with myself, ashamed.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>It is now reported by last Sundays Observer in England that Russian jews are trading guns with the Palestinians, stealing same from Israel Army stores. Okay now? jocelyn braddell.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>I can't say that I think the Palestinians getting more guns from any source is all that tragic. They have a use for them. And since they are getting them from Isreali army its a double plus. Am I supposed to be shocked? Or cheer the ingenuity?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>I'm not promoting war, by the way. I'd rather see peace in the middle east. I am not going to insult those in the middle east by pretending that I have anything more than a dilettantish involvement with their life&amp;death struggle.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>Jocelyn, I am not trying to be rude. I'm trying to be honest. If I have been rude, I apologize. But what's making my posts sound rude is actually the context you are providing.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>Here's most of my post again:

<DIV></DIV>Sounds pretty civil, I think.
<DIV></DIV>
