Dear Joachim,
if it's the question of "who manupulates whom" in the cultural space of
late capitalism that you are ultimately interested in:
< But are the masses active
> then? Or do they remain manipulated? And how does this big fear work
> that D/G describe?
> Are there some clues?<
i humbly hope that my paper on "THE FUNCTION OF THE PHALLUS..."
http://www.pd.org/topos/perforations/perf13/lolita/lolphall.html
might offer some clues: discussed therein (and discussed for the first
time) is the logic of appropriation by dominant cultural forces of
narratives initially conceived of and at first received as subversive.
there are no references to Adorno, but D/G are present as a pattern used
by feminist theorists who unwittingly ensure the appropriative process.
