Oh, I don't know.  Doesn't it depend on who uses the word, how, for what
purpose?  If one is to build a war machine, sometimes one needs things that
are fat, bloated, and perhaps even stupid.  After all, you yourself are 
advocating the use of catatonia, a form of willful stupefaction, to wage 
a low-level war against the bloatedness of "materialism".  Also, fat
and stupid things may want to be detourned, re-machined, reclaimed for 
the opposite cause.
