There is the feeling that anyone who has read #Capitalism and Shizophrenia#
who still wants to cling on to their cosey little middle-class self-identity
has somehow missed the point.
To read such a work and then to continue to live one's life just as before
seems to be to fail to understand the book. It's a bit like reading Spinoza
and still lusting after particulars or reading Nietzsche and still going
to church - #real# philosophy makes a difference - if it doesn't its a waste
of time and energy - for both the wirter and the reader.
The whole project of D+G - and of the Eastern thought discussed 'in this
mind' - is the destruction of the molar human individual. To deny the
importance of this is . . . ?
Sure, there are deleuze quotes that mention the subject, but 1) he is no authority - we can pick him up for being inconsistent and go with the deterritorial-
ization, and 2) it may well be possible to reconstruct a language of 'unities
of molecules' but before we can do that in any helpful way we need to
destratify first.
"life and death are just things that you do when you're bored"
- John Cale.
