On their way to the bank? I'm sure many architects sustain their practices
with this kind of work. That's the dilemna James Mayo discusses in his
articles on an "enlightened" practice. I just heard a 1979 lecture by
George Nelson. To paraphrase: a truly humane architecture can only come
from a humane society. (In the meantime, what do we do?)
