hello, i just got back from the AIAS forum in lexington
[hello to those I met...ed@drury college and others]
we fiddle farted around with a buch of feel good resolutions
and a few power grab motions by some bigger schools
but by far the most interesting motion was the one to change the
AIAS name. i heard from most of the candidate's their ideas
on the organizations need to sprint away from the aia.
we are a seperate entity so we need to clear up this confusion
of our name. to many people still think we are connected to the
aia. so let us sprint to the exit. that's the skinny on the main idea
as it turns out there was no name change. but the exectutive
committee will be studying the problem and making a proposal to
the grassroots forum in the summer. They won't necessarily be
saying to change the name but then they might, as well as suggesting the
new name....the one proposed on sat was AISA... amer. insti. of Students
of Architecture.
anyone have an opinion on this?
[ed...e-mail me directly on what we talked on]
