to design-l members,
I felt I would forward this to the group as Mr. Rex does not seem to feel
confident enough about his opinions to post them himself. My only reply is that
I did not ask what position he held but WHAT HE DID...

Subject: Re: Re: forum (fwd)
Hi,
Just between you and me I was an AIAS chapter president and was the manager
of a student run, not-for-profit corporation that offers architectural
service and advice at low or no cost. The purpose of which was to expose
students who in this economy can't get work and to serve as a bridge
between the "professional" and "public" communities.
Is that what you call whining?
What have you done Mr. Treasurer?
The AIAS is nothing more than a resume filler for its officers and a proxy
for political activism for the student bodies it purports to represent.
Having an "official mouthpiece" representing the interests of architectural
students lets them off the hook for speaking and acting thier mind at a
point in their lives when they might be better served by having to create
structures for voicing concerns and acting on them.
Brian
Oh, by the way, FUCK YOU.
Is that what you meant by whining?
