Sub-Headline: At the College of St. Catherine,
women are not only learning biology,
they are learning about themselves.
The goal is to keep more women in
science; the method is to move away
from dry introductory courses and teach
science as an exploration of reality.

Sub-Headline: [Fort Hood chosen for high-tech unit]

The army selected Fort Hood in Texas
for an experimental battle force that
will use computers to link soldiers,
from platoon leader to the highest
commander. Fort Hood's 2nd Armored
Division was selected over the 4th
Infantry Division at Fort Carson in
Colorado. As envisioned by Army leaders,
21st century soldiers will have helmets
with display visors, putting computerized
battle or map information gathered via
satellite or radio in front of their eyes.

(1) Science as investigation into the real
(2) Virtual Reality as a perspective within the Scientific Real

As the case appears, Architecture, having no relation whatsoever
to the question of Science as a struggle of the human condition,
chooses and places its bet on the futures of virtual technology.
And with faith and fervor similar to the worst of human visions.
But this time, this vision exists within Science, and then within
the Virtual Real. And as a Virtual War may exist as real, then
it is certain that Virtual Architecture will also exist, that is,
with Virtual Ideas of What Is real. This thinking coming from
deep deep inside the wires and microprocessors, with grand ideas
of what is true and false in this subset of architecture, which
lends itself a subset of technology, which lends itself a subset
of the idea of Science, which is by itself, recognizing everything
as just another thing, as is archictecture.

Maybe one can imagine a deity of ideas throwing down to earth the
idea of virtual thinking, that is, going through the motions of
thinking, without thinking at all. This machine is called VT,
and it falls into the many professions, both science, and those
who are responsible (only because this is their declaration) to
the human sense. These Humanities take VT as their ideas find
themselves as paradox to the real, with inabilitys to discuss in
their languages, what is. These VT Humanities continue their
history under this Virtual Thinking, continuing the same and not
looking back with humility and recognizing what they have yet to
learn. Instead, as is the case of this conditioned paradox of
what is, they glorify the Virtual to take the place of the real.
That is, the real condition, the real question, the real idea.
The human question in VT, that is Virtual Thinking, exists in
data space, coordinated as a blip on the 21st century soldiers
screen, informed by a global satellite computer mathematizing.
Science. Science and Archicture. The landscape (including the
humanity living with it) has changed. Need some perspective,
else, well, else we will exist without an ability to question
what is called this Virtual Real. Only to exist inside of it.
