last week regarding the independent study of infrastructure.
I say; oohwoa. He says I will need a summary and outline
of my intent, and that then I could do a 2-credit directed
study. Hmmm. Wow, i say. Sure, i say, sure. Okay.
Thanks, goodbye. Nice gesture, He is not so bad after all.
I hang up the phone to realize that i have 22 hours to
complete a quarters worth of working ideas, and I haven't
started yet, because my online education has been primary,
in that it makes up for what is lacking. Hmmm.
Then my mother asks me what has happened, who it was.
Instead of explaining I find myself in a revelatory space
and time, moving a milk carton about on the kitchen table,
pretending that this is the subjective/objective architect,
and the kitchen and its walls and voids being the universe
of science with the OBJECTIVE reality defined. This, to me,
is the example of the 4 dimensional Venn Diagram. It took
me by suprise, giving the architect the perspective of a
milk carton in space. I made this milk carton investigate
other objects while considering that it is almost impossible
for this architect to describe the universe if its objective
view is different from that of scientific space and time.
At the same time, if this milk carton architect were to
realize themselves as part of the objective universe of
science, then it would be possible to describe this notion
more readily in a subjective and human way, that the human
is only part, and not center of this objectivity.
I thank everyone for this internal brain combustion.
Next I read the paper for that "world view" ala America
and I find a few blinding headlines that are of the same
ideas in relation to science and the human coefficient...

Well, considering that GPS satellite location is still of
military use, and also considering that the public transport
here is wiring the buses with GPS so that, not the consumer,
but the management has the time and location of the public
bus system, so that employees can arrive on time without
excuse, um, i mean workers. This scenario playing out is
a great objective data real of the human object in an object
of science and technology, almost trapped in it, losing the
freedom supposedly guaranteed them, unless that first move
brought with it also the saving grace to put this situation
in a human perspective, to contain it and declare some
limits to this unchecked unethical encroachment on humans.
Who are the consumers? Is this the dialogue of the market?
This seems wholly objective, decided in good faith, progress.
Now is architecture subservient to this ideology, or is the
idea of architecture so comprehensive as to give some human
subjective perspective to this question of objective science?
Do architects and artists have a responsibility to address
this question that traffic engineers most likely will not?
Or is this invasion just illusory, and will be forgotten as
soon as we can inhabit the Virtual Real?
How to get out of this box of scientific objectivity?
Describe it! Then at least the human is equal to this
scientific ideology of objective human. At the least
very bleak, but this situation is only going to progress.
Architects can make boundaries to this situation, mental
and social boundaries which reveals this pervasive activity
and what it is to live within this, as a data animal.
Is this the consensus of our census?
shoot,k-bang!pop! More prisons. I better go outside into
the freezer to warm up with coffee and cigarette before
coming back inside to start my final due in the a.m.
