Subject: New Urbanism/New Regionalism

The third Congress for a New Urbanism was very interesting, talking mainly
about regional planning. The names of many of the speakers are listed below.
For those who don't recognize them, many are environmentalists, public
advocates and government officials, like the Mayor of Milwaukee and the only
elected leader of an urban growth district in America (Metro, the UGB around
Portland -- around that are 26,000,000 acres of farmland that can not be
developed). He (Mike Burton) said, "If we don't DESIGN what's inside the
urban growth boundaries we might as well throw away the whole concept."

The CNU was taped. To order the audio cassettes use the numbers below and
call the Conference Recording Service at 510-527-3600 -- the Conference Code
for ordering is CNU 95 Department M. The prices are listed at the end of each
set, and the group is discounted for $202
