Bose has announced an acoustic environment simulator tool; the system is
called the Auditioner. The Newsbytes press release has no details to speak
of; the project manager at Bose is Kenneth D. Jacob. The program creates
acoustic models from CAD models of a project.
In other news, in industrial design news, the US Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA) has cancelled plans to promulgate repetitive
strain injury (RSI) prevention regulations, apparently under senate
pressure. Maybe it's time to go back to tossing sabots into the machines.
(Sabots are wooden shoes, you know, the kind that go with picturesque Dutch
outfits.)
