If you know of students or others who are interested in
volunteer internships working on environmental issues, please
have them contact me directly at the phone number or internet
address listed below. Potential projects include: establishing
a mountain/desert open space preserve (policies, acquisition
priorities, strategies, public education, programs, etc.),
incorporating "sustainability" into a City's Vision and
General Plan, developing land use/infrastructure "concurrency"
programs, evaluating the impact of building permit/zoning
restrictions on growth and the economy, and probably many
others as well.
For more physically-oriented projects, I would put interested
folks in touch with our Parks & Recreation and Recycling
staff.
