Randolph,
The post was offered in part to Ken Friedman's suggestion that
he was flamed here by a "regular." To suggest that "flame" is
not forbidden, indeed encouraged, by this voice.
But it was more importantly posted to challenge the
all-to-common Net plea for "civility" in discourse which
customarily cloaks the urge to dominate.
And, to ridicule the proliferation of simulated woundedness and
bleats for herd support to squelch a differing view or style of
expression.
And, not least, in support of the exploration of a wide range
of designs for posts -- voices, syntax, grammar, topic, style
of argumentation, cross-postings, articles, announcements,
fields of design and art -- in continuing response to Howard's
periodic calls for resuscitation of the moribund design and
architecture of mind and matter.
Blowing on the dying embers, hoping that the mimicking study of
historic ashes of once bright flames of voice and art is not
our neo-paleo gloomy doom.
You know, my contentious blather, mimicking the vibrancy of the
disputatious Pathos of Ever-Elusive Civilization.
To the point, did everyone see "Battle Royal" on CNN? Amazing
dissimulation of discourse.
