Having lurked on this list for a couple of months and just starting
to try to contribute, I have been struck by not only the civility of
this list, but also the quality of the discussion. Here, are the
discussions I expected to find in alt.architecture. Alright so the
level of discussion in alt.architecture isn't too bad, but recently
it has sunk to the point where there is virtually nothing worth the
trouble of reading, even less worth responding to.

Having only just begun to get started, I unfortunately am going to
have to leave this list. I am leaving the safe confines of academe to
venture out into the world of work. As virtually no architects in the
UK are on the internet, I suspect it may be a long time before I have
the opportunity to return, particularly when pay levels are barely
adequate to live on, let alone fund an internet account and the
resultant phone bill!
