You might want to read Robert Gutman's 1988 book, Architectural Practice,
A Critical Review. It is a well written book which covers the issues of
supply and demand and the changing nature of the profession. Suprisingly,
Gutman's research says that there is plenty of demand...but many
architects bemoan the fact that they have to work for commisions now.
