Stephen,
To start with the last question, no I don't work for Rem Koolhaas.
Then, the end of architecture. That is something I don't understand. I think
you might say that the role of architecture is changing, and of little
importance when you work in an XL scale. The fact that the architecture you
make is "NO architecture" is interesting.
The most important thing about building and architecture is the way you
organise or not-organise a program for a building. Style is something you
see, and mostly glued on it at the end. I learned in my study and my work
that styles are not so important. I also think that the discussion about
architecture is most of the time a discussion about styles.
What I know about Rem Koolhaas is that he doesn't like this discussions.
Every 10 years architects seem to invent a new style, and the old styles
then are forbidden. I think there is a great loss of knowledge in this way.
I am curious of your comments,
