Is not the the size and shape of the cave that these people made an
expression as well? Why do you think it has to be through the decorative
aspects of cave wall paintings? One could debate the expressive power of
decoration as well but I think that construction is an expression in
itself that constitutes architecture, albeit not all architecture is this
way. The size, shape, location etc of each person's cave is an
expression of their relation to the world, protection from it and
interest in interactions with others. This I think is political. The
polarity that you set up seems to want to divide architecture from
construction by your pitting of them against eachother. Why is this?
