As with any worthwhile thinker it might be best not to foster a "Deleuze
for Dummies," mentality. All the books are well-known, I favor _The Fold_
and _Negotiations_ is a good guide. Of course the tome is _1000 Plateuas_.
Deleuze is the thinker of the 21st century and the folding in of ecological
concerns is certainly a part of our fabric. Deleuze is the thinker of AND
vs. the Deconstructionist NOT. He is a thinker of continuities and to do
this he has to negotiate a very strong tendency in philosophy: HEGEL! To
the extent that he is successful in developing a philosophy based on
substance and not consciousness, I have to say, it continues to amaze me.
So, be wary of the use of the terms of consciousness, in Deleuz's reverse
Platonism. And for those critics who might raproach me for turning from
Decon to Deleuze, be careful. I have my own take on Deleuze that doesn't
abandon Heidegger and Derrida but reasserts them into Deleuzian blind
spots. Pay your dues (or your Deleuze) on this body of thought, it will be
the most practical thing you can do for your future.
