You will find a concise biography of George Maciunas in Owen Smith's
doctoral dissertation, including some discussion of the relationship of
Maciunas to SoHo:

There are good discussions of George and especially of his life in relation
to Fluxus in Eastera Milman's special Fluxus issue of Visible Language

Jon Hendricks is the leading expert on George Maciunas. Hendricks is
curator of the world's largest collection of Maciunas's work, publications,
artifacts, documents, papers, etc., The Gilbert and Lila Silverman Fluxus
Collection. Hendricks has published a series of important catalogues and
books that give a good overview of Maciunas's products and the most
comprehensive collection in print of the publications and projects Maciunas
designed for the Fluxus group:
