Thanks for your note. You're absolutely right---those who never develop
the ability to mentally visualize in 3 dimensions through ough madrawing
are likely to become overly reliant on the software, and they lack a
certain understanding of the contained space.
My bias in favor of computer design may come from my past
experience---before entering the university, I worked for 13 years,
mostly as a drafter, so my visualization skills are already somewhat
developed. I view my computer not much more than a rather sophisticated
tool. It helps me out quite a bit, but it doesn't change how I view the
world.
Which is why I don't understand all the flap about cyberspace...
But that's another discussion, isn't it? :-)
