PUBLIC SEMINAR: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AFTER THE WORLD TRADE CENTER
DISASTER: NEXT STEPS FOR NEW YORK'S ECONOMY

On Thursday, October 18th, The Center for NYC Affairs of the Milano
Graduate School and The Center for an Urban Future will present a public
seminar "Economic Development After the World Trade Center Disaster:
Next Steps For New York's Economy". In the aftermath of the
catastrophic events of September 11th, the city's political and business
leaders must begin the long and difficult process of rebuilding--and
perhaps reconfiguring--elements of New York's core economic
infrastructure.

Moderator: Leslie Eaton, Regional Economics Correspondent, "New York
Times"

Speakers include: Bob Fitch, Journalist and author of "The Assassination of
New York"; Joel Kotkin, Senior Fellow, Center for an Urban Future, and author
of "The New Geography: How the Digital Revolution is Reshaping the American
Landscape"; Errol Louis, Assistant Professor, Pratt University and consultant
on the Fulton Street Revitalization Project; Fred Siegel, Professor, Cooper
Union and author of "The Future Once Happened Here: New York, D.C., L.A. and
the Fate of America's Big Cities."

The event will take place in the Wolff Conference Room (Room 242), 65
Fifth Avenue (between 13th and 14th Streets) from 10AM to 12PM. Space
is limited therefore a reservation is required. E-mail RSVP to
neil@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or call 212.479.3344 x404
