Re: iron curtain

from the photos on the following website, it looks like the 'curtain'
may have been a chain link fence with detection devices and watch towers
along its length.

and lauf, even architecture professors don't know everything :)

but my architecture seminar "architecture as power" did study in detail
auschwitz and manzanar as examples of 'towns' designed for death and
detention. in that respect, i'd recommend the films "Shoah" (all nine
hours of it) and "Come See the Paradise."
