And there was mention of Werner Heisenberg who insisted on staying =
rather than leaving Germany in those days as did many of his circle =
saying words to the effect: "things like this have occurred again and =
again in history - this will be over soon too." This is a different =
example of being German that reaches beyond origin by birth.

Catweasle:
Out of a population of 100 million how many Heisenbergs were there - I =
could count them on my fingers without having to bother with my toes. OK =
so Heisie had a good job on the busses and didn't want to lose it to a =
Gastarbeiter.

Jengiz (meaning, in Turkish: We (the royal one, you know) are War)::
Instead of statistics, what we rather need to answer is: how many =
Heisenbergs and Maliks do we need to survive in order to contribute that =
great gift ?

Catweasle:
Hahahah! Well at least I've got a sense of humour Kenneth - which is
essential on a Heidegger List? Someone once said, [it was me =
actually,] that
Heideggerians are intellectual - but not intelligent - your posting =
was a
timely reminder of my original assessment.
I enjoyed your post for its wittiness, [which concealed a sly =
sympathy -
like a hesitant, furtive respect for an old gladiator as seen looking =
down
from your position as an osculator of your Caesar Heidegger's =
glutinous
maximus in the royal box. Ah, yes, painstaking scholarship - I =
remember it
well - one frenzied read of B&T over a gin-sodden weekend, and then =
the
inevitable scissors, the nail, the piece of string and the lavatory, =
and
the .....ugh! :-)

Who was Glueo Wallpaper - is he still around?

Sorry I haven't been very active with the chapel rituals recently - =
but I
always feel a little embarrassed farting in church -specially with so =
many
shockable old ladies in the congregation. :-)

P.S. to my post to the list:

catweasle,

if I was to take your challange regarding nations and their =
characters, I would probably ask as a first thing why you british call =
foreigners not simply foreigners but rather ALIENS...

Malik Sezgin:
catweasle seems to need that sort self-expression. so let him have his =
farts (thanks Being they are just digital ones) and ignore him until he =
has grown up (which - Kenneth- is the only way not loosing what you =
called flames ...)
