Ok all slurs or ressentment aside, I want to know what you think about this 
Kenneth. Let?s say Luke Woodham had you right in front of his face. He tells 
you his story, and that tomorrow he is going to stab his mother, shoot his 
ex-girlfriend, and as many of his fellow students as possible. Let?s say 
that you respond as you did in your reply to me: "ideas in the hands of 
those who are most in need of asceticism at the time when no asceticism is 
around when they need it most is, well - - most often disastrous - - - -"

I can hear Luke now: "Disastrous? You sound like my high school counselor, 
Sister Mary Catherine, whose childish impulses are easily satisfied by the 
moral anesthesia accompanying unexamined condemnatory words, such as 
?disastrous?. 'Disastrous'? Look at how your sentence trails off with four 
dashes, in the very manner of those who wish to convey the accepted moral 
connotations without examination. 'Disastrous'? One man's disaster is 
another's daybreak. Murder is not 'disastrous'. Murder is daring."

What would you say to Luke?
