Human beings, who whilst they are occupied in the activity of the
cultivation of plants are deemed with the alternative significata:
"gardeners," their tools and the plants of the garden, the soil etc., occupy
space and interact. This entitic interaction is described using the
abstract noun "gardening." But entitic interaction doesn't exist either -
only the interactants exist.
The rest is poetical evocations of feeling, which is good to read as I sit
beneath my sycamore tree - but it is not philosophy, for "gardening" and
"walking" and "being" are not, and cannot be - existentially present - only
the gardeners and the walkers and the be-ers can be existentially present and
the material existential activities of their embodied brain-embrained body
be observed.
I'm afraid that the naive misunderstandings of Heideggerian
Walk-in-the-Black-Forrest folk-grammar, and the rest of the Greek influenced
traditional folk psychology which transcendentalists so much depend upon
are just plain inadequate for a cogent explanation of human behaviour, and
are insufficient to describe the aetiology of existential behaviour and
the modalic complexity of worldly phenomena. Heideggerians will continue to
flounder and flail around until they pick up a grammar book and turn to the
page on gerunds, gerundials/gerundives. That is where Dasein really abides.
