That's the translation... the German simply says "geistigen Fuehrung". Geist
being mind, spirit, intellect, etc. the translator has obviously felt it
necessary to expand to explain. Geist is a problem though, see Derrida's De
l'esprit/Of Spirit for a detailed analysis.
