anthony the sceptic rote:
what i thot too, kenneth, ...gestell meets eschaton right on the
horizon, ...pretty stunning, ...esp comming from the pentagon itself.
Trouble is, like you say, them folk will just take it for argument to up the
"star wars" budgeting.
I remember back the 70's when climate change was also in the
cultural dialogue. Oh wait, back then the scientific intelligentia
was prophesizing global cooling instead of global warming. 30 years
from now, they'll probably be predicting something else entirely and
chuckling about what we simple folk were projecting in 2004.
Philosophers should be a step above such fads.

you sound like a forrest gump echo as your anti-pentagonalistic
scepticism above sounds hollow coming from a phantasmagoric driven
"idjit" who's plastic beads were switched by sceptic trickster 'the
amazing randy' for 12 karat gold plated psycho logical u no wots??
i mean, talk a bout the incredible incredulous credulity of
oxymoronic 'christian scientistics'
it may be that this pentagon bashing by you is propped up and nailed
together by your evil subterranean saintistically busy white house
just trying to corner the market in warm climate oily rich "act now
before the pentagon forecast freeze folks" retirement communnity
developer in the (now temperate) real estate rich middle east, that'd

btw another entry in this 'the end is near' genre, tho far more
remote than mr. scheetz's imagination capturing (coming to a theatre
near YOU) entry above is:
"Super Volcano In Yellowstone National Park"
It is little known that lying underneath one of The United States
largest and most picturesque National Parks - Yellowstone Park - is
one of the largest "super volcanoes" in the world.
The term "supervolcano" has no specifically defined scientific
meaning. It was used by the producers of The BBC TV show Horizion in
2000 to refer to volcanoes that have generated Earth's largest
volcanic eruptions. As such, a supervolcano would be one that has
produced an exceedingly large, catastrophic explosive eruption and a
giant caldera.
Scientists have revealed that Yellowstone Park has been on a regular
eruption cycle of 600,000 years. The last eruption was 640,000 years
ago so the next is overdue. The next eruption could be 2,500 times
the size of the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption. Volcanologists have
been tracking the movement of magma under the park and have
calculated that in parts of Yellowstone the ground has risen over
seventy centimeters this century.
