Thanks for spinning this further.
I read somewhere, somewhen of an old custom among German peasants, a kind of
fertility ritual, where the peasant takes his wife out onto the newly ploughed
field in early spring to show his prowess in the furrow. Helps the wheat grow,
they say. Agral vir.
