There is a report in HT today about DDA's plans (or, rather, LG's suggestion) to make Delhi's planned development (or, rather, its subversion) metro-centred. Half-a-kilometer stretch on either side of the metro line is proposed to be permitted high floor area ration and 10-storey buildings are envisaged. <

And a Public Notice is currently on, inviting (till 15.01.03) objections/suggestions to the proposal to change land-use of 87 hectares along the Shahdara to Tis Hazari metro corridor from residential/park/ green/riverbed to commercial/transportation for property development' for the metro. <

I'm sending this for information, since these public notices are put out most surreptitiously, in case anyone feels like objecting to the trailor of the horror film that is going to be inflicted on the city. In case you know anyone who might want to object, especially form that part of town, please forward the url of the Notice. In case you'd rather join them than foolishly fight them contact DDA or DMRC for projects, studies, etc, in development areas like design, construction, marketing / brokering, advertising / advocacy, etc, and ignore this.
Needless to add, should anyone find it useful, I could send the plannerly prose I've filed by way of my objection.
