Hindustan Times has today (20.02.03) a news report titled ?Swanky station
to police Metro Rail?. It says Delhi Metro?s very own police station,
responsible for security arrangements in and around the Metro stations and
rail tracks, ?has been housed in a newly-constructed building at Shastri
Park?. The three-storied building, ?keeping in tune with the Metro Rail's
new-age image?, has ?all modern facilties?. The station is to be
inaugurated by the Police Commissioner. As far as I can make out, Shastri
Park is an area covered by the Public Notice objections/suggestions
received in response to which have not yet been heard. As far as I
understand, this means land use change permission on it is still to come
through, which in turn means that the building in which the swanky police
station is to be housed is illegal.
