hi Santosh, I remember this movie, was just a transcript of a meeting that
actually occured, no? the Banality of Evil as the phrase was coined. I used
to be quite interested in Albert Speer, partly because the Italian
neo-rationalists studied him, but also because of his autobiography _Inside
the Third Reich_, where, in the last chapter, he sees himself as just a
precursor to this new kind of professional to come (namely,
architect-planner) and warns the world against himself.
Found this:

there was a very interesting book out on Mies van der Rohe and the Third
Reich a few years back, can't seem to find the title anywhere. the last
years of Bauhaus (under Mies' directorship) also interest me in this
regards. so yes, these are references for me. Heinrich Tessenow (Speer's
teacher) says (sometime in 1920s) the professio will have required a
generation that passes through hell.
so back to the terms, organisations, violence, cities -- how would you
phrase your issues and questions? for me it is an integral part of the
history of modern architecture, it wasn't difficult -- one could afford to
feel like Jean-Paul Sartre's Gros Louis (do you know the triology), walking
around Ahmedabad during the riots last year. Iron in the Soul and ther
Repreive, the books are. so we are back to questions of cities under war, or
the history of urban space in war-time, in riots, under terrorism. and
architecture. what are your questions? how would one attempt them?
sometimes i would thinks architectures and cities need time, they need
continuity, the need to season and be tended to become what they always
promise. at least an illusion of permanence, and this is denied.
