Czarny Kwadrat:
http://www.andrzejdragan.com/
I was born in the papal year of 1978 in a city rated second on a list of
the well-educated polish major cities. The second-worst. To earn for my
bread I moved to the capitol city of Poland, where I’m presently
drowning in a capitalistic prosperity. I do possess four hobbies:
climbing the stairs, negotiating speeding tickets, photographing
aeroplanes, stroking a cat and the fifth – extraordinary.
As a vivid opponent of the saying that better tomorrow was yesterday, I
do for a living as an intellectual prostitute, posing at an ambitious,
young scientist. Due to my several, predisposing me to this activity,
mental defects, a common opinion has appeared that I’m operable for this
funny profession. Not to be proofless, I attach a shortcut from my
scientific CV.
Master degree cum laude at the Physics Department of the Warsaw
University within 3,5 years, all scores – outstanding (out of the common
scale as a matter of fact). The First Award of the Polish Physical
Society for the best degree thesis in physics in Poland (2001). European
Science Foundation – stay at the University of Oxford (three times). The
Annual Award for the Young Scientists from the Foundation for Polish
Science (2003 and 2004). Grants from the Committee for the Scientific
Research, National Laboratory for Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics
(FAMO). Other scholarships: Vrije Universiteit (Amsterdam), Universitat
München (Munich), Instituto Superior Tecnico (Lisbon). Scientific
Secretary at the Physics Olympiad Head Committee (2002/2003). One-term
course on the theory of relativity at the Stefan Wyszynski University
(2001/2002) and Warsaw University (2002/2003). Regular tutorials in the
Polish Children’s Fund (perverse bright-minded pupils). Less than 20
scientific or popular-scientific articles (the latter for example in the
polish edition of Scientific American, and Polish Scientific
Encyclopedia). Participation in several popular-scientific broadcasts of
the Polish Radio. Finishing a PhD thesis on some basic problems of
quantum mechanics.
Moreover: I like Les Claypool, seven-syllable expressions (an evidence
of embarrassingly poor intellectual standards) and a mad phraseology.
Only in the cinemas, I have seen David Lynch’s “Lost Highway” 15 times,
however I’ve never tasted coffee in my life. In a case of convulsive
need for contacting me, I advice some reading of the contact shed. As
the British scientists claim, among all the animals, swine crosses the
street in the safest and the most intelligent way. Human is rated
fourth. That’s why I’m filled with unlimited anthropocentrism.
Let us state a resolute "no" to any thought proteses.
