The Japanese Society of Commercial Designers (JCD) has granted the JCD
Design Award to the excellent works of commercial spaces, cultural
facilities, hotels, leisure facilities and so on. They founded the new
award "JCD International Design Competition for Youth 18-35" to raise
the designers of next generation from all over the the world.
theme: Mobile Store: A Store Moved Freely! --- Movable, Transportable,
Floating, Freestanding stores
type: open idea competition, international
jury: Naoto Fukazawa (product designer), Kenya Hara (designer, professor
of University of Musashino Arts), Toshiaki Ishida (architect), Astrid
Klein and Mark Dytham (architect/interior designer), Takashi Sugimoto
(interior designer)
open to: 35 or less year old students, research students, teachers and
designers
prize: prize of 300,000 yen, support for introduction of paid
internship, private exhibition holding for Grand Award
registration deadline: February 21, 2005
