Engineers’ panel to verify 36-hr flyover claim

New Delhi, January 15: The claim of an architect to construct a flyover
in 36 hours is being put to test. A committee of five engineers has been
formed by the Delhi government to verify the validity of the claims made
by architect Jitendra Kapoor. A report is to be given in a month.
Finance and Urban Development Minister A.K. Walia formed the panel today
after a meeting with agencies on use of totally precast flyover/ bridges
technology.
These engineers have been given powers to go around the world to study
bridges or flyovers made with this technology. They have been asked to
find out if it was possible to complete a flyover in 36 hours and if
this has been done elsewhere, Walia said.
