Secretaría del Concurso del Campus de la Justicia de Madrid
An international competition for ideas shall be opened for the
Preliminary Plan for the Madrid Campus of Justice, which is to be locate
on a site comprising two adjoining plots land in the urban development
of the north of Parque de Valdebebas in Madrid. The fundamental
objective is to tackle the problems posed by the current dispersion of
its eighteen centres around the city, both for the citizen and for the
Administration of Justice of Madrid. Given the large number of judicial
elements that it houses and its continuous growth, it is believed that
the design of the new Headquarters should be of a similar nature to that
of a university campus, although it will be essential to comply with all
the necessary security requirements that a complex of this kind demands.
The competition is divided into two phases. The first phase shall be
anonymous and bear the title. In the second phase, the selected teams
shall develop the work presented in the first phase in greater detail.
This competition is held by Madrid Architects Association, it is opened
to world wide architects and the registration is free, with a total
amount of prizes of ? 1.000.000. The deadline for registration is
17/03/05 and for presenting proposals to the first phase is 26/04/05.
The bases and the basic documentation for drawing up proposals shall be
available on the competition website:
