Chandigarh, July 16: THE Institute of Hospital Engineering (IHE),
Chandigarh, has resolved to set up an autonomous centre for Hospital
Engineering and Architecture as its educational wing.
NCHEA to start PG course in hospital engineering

The National Centre of Hospital Engineering and Architecture (NCHEA),
the research and training wing of the Institute of Hospital Engineering,
India, established at PGI Chandigarh in 2004, is all set to start a
distance learning post graduate programme in hospital engineering in
collaboration with the Durban Business School by the end of this year.
The School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) Anna University, Chennai
has taken the initiative to prepare the curriculum and syllabus for the
same.
The course would offer three PG level programmes: a six-month
certificate programme, one-year PG diploma and two-year Masters degree
programme. According to the national chairperson, NCHEA, the response to
this course announcement has been overwhelming and already School of
Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, Academia of Architects Mumbai,
Rizvi School of Architecture, Mumbai have volunteered to be the centres
for these programmes. Even the Council of Architects and the Vice
Chancellor of Anna University have supported the programme, he informed.
Architects, engineers, health administrators and nurses, with experience
in healthcare planning are eligible for these programmes. There are only
15 seats per centre.
