SCOTTSDALE - Will Bruder, winner of dozens of international, national and regional architecture awards, will keynote the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation's fall conference, "Doing More With Less, by Design."

To be held Nov. 2-5 at Taliesin West in Scottsdale, the event will focus on what good design means for architects and the public.

"In selecting the theme, we kept in mind where the foundation wants to go in the future," foundation executive Beverly Hart said. The foundation advances the principles of Frank Lloyd Wright, who died in 1959. Bruder, who designed the award-winning Burton Barr Central Library in Phoenix, will join other top designers in a series of talks and seminars that explore how people can live better and more simply through good design.

German engineer Werner Sobek; architect Vernon Swaback, author of The Creative Community; and Dan Hoffman, who led several architecture programs at the Cranbrook Educational Community in Michigan, will be among the speakers.

The program will examine topics related to Wright's principles of organic architecture and beyond. Tours of Taliesin West will be available to those who attend.

The event concludes with the group's annual fund-raiser, the Great Treasure Hunt, on Nov. 5 at Taliesin West.

The fee of $250 covers most lectures and tours, but some events and activities require additional fees. Registration is required. To sign up, contact Hart at request @franklloydwright.org or (480) 627-5373. Registration materials are available at www.franklloydwright.org.
