The promotion of Contemporary Architectural Culture is the main purpose
of Arquine. Since year 2000 we began a project of international
dimension by holding an annual congress, with the object of expanding
the impact that can create our editorial proposal.
"Architecture and Transparency", "Building Architecture",
"Iberoamerica/New generation", ³IMPORT/EXPORT², ³Territories² and
³LIMITES² have been the themes of the past congresses. Some prominent
and acknowledged architects such as, Winy Maas (Rotterdam), Terence
Riley (New York), Abalos & Herreros (Madrid), Carme Pinós (Barcelona),
Aaron Betsky (San Francisco), David Chipperfield (London), Manuel Aires
Mateus (Lisboa), RCR-Aranda, Pigem, Vilalta (Girona), Wiel Arets
(Rotterdam), François Roche (France), Peter Eisenman (Nueva York),
Bernard Tschumi (Nueva York), among others, have been with us.
"BOXes", is the proposed theme for our 7th annual congress, which will
take place at Palacio de Bellas Artes (Fine Art Museum) in Mexico City
on march 27th, 28th and 29th of year 2006.
For our 7th edition we are inviting a selected group of architects and
designers such as: Taniguchi & Associates (Japan), Rafael Moneo
(Madrid), Massimiliano Fuksas (Rome), Rafael Iglesia (Rosario, Arg),
Rick Joy (Tucson, Arizona. USA), Ani Vélez (Medellín, Colombia), Zaha
Hadid (London), Odile Decq (Paris), LOT EK (N. York), José Luis Mateo
(BCN), Carlos Jiménez (Houston, Tex), Diener & Diener (Switzerland),
Herzog & de Meuron (Switzerland), Diller + Scofidio (N.York), Dominique
Perrault architecte (Paris), UN Studio- Ben Van Berkel (Rotterdam),
Caruso St. John (London).
And the designers Martin Guixé (Barcelona), Los Bouroullec (Paris), Ingo
Maurer (Germany) Jasper Morrison (London), Konstantin Grcic (Münich).
