On Architecture: Sleek new Lincoln Square was not what Bellevue needed
LAWRENCE CHEEK
SPECIAL TO THE POST-INTELLIGENCER
Bellevue developer Kemper Freeman Jr. said yesterday he has bought the
Fremont Troll and plans to transplant it to the corner of Bellevue Way
and Northeast Eighth Street, where it will greet shoppers at his new
310,000-square-foot Lincoln Square retail and entertainment complex.
Bellevue over Seattle? Oh, please
No, no, that's a totally bogus lead -- nothing could be further from
Freeman's (or Bellevue's) sensibilities than the goofily glowering
troll, except maybe the Fremont Lenin statue.
