Warner Bros. to Move Global Architecture Design Center to China

(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)SHANGHAI, Jan 09, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --Warner Bros. will move its global architecture design center to eastern China's Shanghai city as an important step of its China expansion, reported Shanghai media.

Taking charge of the design and construction of new cinemas, the global architecture design center will be responsible for all of its expanding businesses worldwide after being transferred to Shanghai.

The transfer will bring cooperation with more indigenous companies for further China development besides attracting more audiences in this populous market, expressed a senior director from Warner Bros..

With the arrival of its design center, Warner Bros. is brewing a large-scale expansion in China market.

It plans to open 6 to 7 new cinemas each year in the future and to have not less than 170 screening halls by the end of 2007.

At present, Warner owns totally 8 cinemas and 67 screening halls across the country, and one of its joint ventures in Shanghai, Yonghua cinema, has been standing atop box office revenues among the country's counterparts for the third consecutive year till now.
