experimental media architecture

A central blog for art, architecture & yes, varied social-aesthetic
experiments that forward an aesthetic of consilience and the use of
digital technic and projections/renderings of data.

This site will be updated (hopefully!) biweekly. Your contributions
and comments are very much invited and if appropriate your proposals
will be posted.

If you think you would like to work on this blog as one of its members
please email me.

Please post this to your members.

EMA
is an emerging form, a synthesis of architecture and projection and
the possibilities of current communication digital technologies. These
possibilities include quite novel community involvement, data based
aesthetics/renderings, mobile media interactivity, a multitude of
sensory arrays data sources, net and data
comparisons/confluences/breeding, rfid and other methodologies of
information recording, identity and transfer.

There is not as much happening in this field as one would hope, and
even expect - especially little in Vancouver, Canada (were the blogger
is currently based). Most of the interesting work, the new media
aspect - is either only available on the net itself or in gallery
spaces (or happening in other countries!). Yet there is no reason for
this form of art production and social interaction to remain confined
to these environs and in substance the most apt placement for these
kinds of works is in the most public of displays – as incorporated
within public architectural frames.
