Organized by the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.,
“Affordable Housing: Designing an American Asset” is an exhibit that
serves as a showcase for thoughtful and livable architecture and as an
exploration of socio-economic issues affecting American communities. The
show will be exhibited at Bentley Projects art gallery in Phoenix this
September1—October 31.
Highlighting more than a dozen current projects from across the United
States, the message of “Affordable Housing” is that creative solutions,
common goals, and the transformative power of good design can triumph,
even in the face of budget constraints. Featured projects—efficient
homes for low-income families in both urban and rural settings—aim to
demonstrate that low-cost and quality are not mutually exclusive.
