HC-style complex to replace AP Bhawan

New Delhi, August 12: Developers eyeing hot property in Lutyens’ Delhi
have found a new business interest — the 20-acre Andhra Pradesh Bhawan
complex on 1 Ashoka Road, famed for its Andhra cuisine canteen and
weekend film screenings.
It will soon make way for a brand new institutional centre on the lines
of the India Habitat Centre. But don’t worry, Delhi’s most popular
canteen will be retained in the new campus.
At least nine real estate players are bidding for the project, estimated
at Rs 300-Rs 500 crore. The shortlisted firms, selected through an open
bid process, include two international players — South Korea-based
SsangYong Corp and MR Properties. The others are DLF Retail Developers
Ltd, Nagarjuna Construction Company, Indiabulls and Larsen &Toubro.
