10 years ago, I would have sold my soul to the devil to see Zaha Hadid's
work in person, especially if it was in the NYGuggenheim museum. But the
Iraq war made me stop caring about art and architecture. Zaha Hadid is a
well known British-Iraqi Architect.
I took this picture in New York's Metro. The metro system here is so
messy, dirty, and hot! I had a horrible experience yesterday trying to
find my way in the crowded and flooded Grand Central!
I think the fancy D.C. Metro has spoiled me already!
haha
I drove from D.C. to New York city yesterday. I'm participating in the
UFPJ Steering Committee meeting. I'm not a big meetings fan, but today's
8 hour meeting was actually good and productive.
anyway...
The Iraqi PM, Al-Maliki, is supposed to reach to DC on the 25th, then
NYC on the 27th. But the current war between Israel and Lebanon is
making this visit more complicated. Al-Maliki condemned the Israeli
attack a couple of days ago, one day after the Iraqi parliament
condemned it and showed support to the Lebanese people and resistance.
Today, Al-Mahdi Army (As-Sadr militia) had a large demonstration where
they carried Iraqi and Lebanese flags and chanted "yes for Muqtada, yes
for Nasrallah". Nasrallah, for you who don't know, is Hizbullah's
leader. Furthermore, Muqtada As-Sadr asked Al-Maliki today to cancel his
visit to the U.S.
