New Delhi: Clean Yamuna and a developed riverfront seem a distant dream
for the capital.
Though the Delhi Government has ambitious plans for development along
the banks as part of 2010 Commonwealth Games, the nearly dead river
hardly incites any hope of an early revival.
The Supreme Court-appointed committee recently revealed that nearly Rs10
billion (Dh833 million) had been spent on cleaning the river but in
reality there was little to feel proud of and the Yamuna continues to be
as dirty as ever.
