Tehran, Feb 25 (NNN-IRNA) Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar-Harandi here on Saturday urged domestic architects to pay due attention to Islamic patterns in making new designs.

Addressing a gathering of architectures, the minister underscored the need for using more Islamic designs in Iranian architecture.

"While using modern technologies, Iranian engineers should use more Islamic designs in their works to preserve our cultural and Islamic identity," Saffar-Harandi said.

He further called on the Iranian architects to try to fill the gap between modern technology and the Islamic culture in their designs.
