Target and the American Architectural Foundation to Announce Student Design Contest at School Building Expo; Students to Design Their Ideal Learning Environment

Target and the American Architectural Foundation will launch their national design contest that asks high school students to generate ideas about the schools and classrooms of the future at a gathering of school architects in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, March 7. The contest is titled: "Redesign Your School -- A Contest of Scholarly Proportions." Students in 9th through 12th grade are asked to submit original designs for their ideal places to learn in the 21st century. Scholarships up to $10,000 and other prizes will be presented to winners, eight of whom will also be invited to Washington, D.C., to present their ideas.

The announcement will take place at 8:30 a.m. at School Building Expo, the nation's largest gathering of school design architects and vendors who supply products for school buildings. School Building Expo is produced in cooperation with The American Institute of Architects, the nation's leading architecture association.
