Old GMC complex outsourced to Delhi firm

PANJIM, MARCH 26 — Delhi-based Fargo Estates Pvt Ltd/Filatex Pvt Ltd has
bagged the award for developing and operating the old Goa Medical
College building for commercial use.
According to information released by the Entertainment Society of Goa
(ESG) on Monday evening, the Delhi-based company was the highest bidder
for Rs 5.1 crore annually among four in the fray.
The monthly license fee to be generated by the ESG from the award is
approximately Rs 43 lakh

As per the terms and conditions, no changes will be allowed to the
structure and façade of the building.
Similarly, all renovation plans will have to be approved by the ESG
governing body.
It is also learnt that only malls with high-end brands will be allowed.
Officials also said that the building would not be allowed for heritage
hotels, casinos or discos.
